SelectCare of Texas, L.L.C. is a Provider Sponsored Organization (PSO), licensed by the Texas Department of Insurance and under contract with the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services, as a Medicare Advantage Payer providing Medicare alternatives to qualified beneficiaries.
In early 2001, Heritage Physician Networks (HPN), Golden Triangle Physician Alliance (GTPA), and Heritage Health Systems (Heritage) launched a new health plan, SelectCare of Texas with HPN and GTPA as the majority owners and Heritage as the minority corporate owner. Heritage Health Systems Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Universal American Financial Corp.
Serving the Medicare eligible population, SelectCare of Texas currently offers health care benefits to the Medicare beneficiaries in five Houston counties (Harris, Fort Bend, Montgomery, Galveston [partial] and Brazoria) and three Golden Triangle counties (Hardin, Jefferson and Orange) through three distinct benefit plan products: TexanPlus, TexanValue, and TexanComplete. Our extended networks of health care professionals represent some of the oldest and largest physician groups in their respective markets.
Our hospital systems include Memorial Hermann Health System, Christus Health System, St. Luke’s Episcopal Health System, HCA, Memorial Baptist and the Medical Center of Southeast Texas.
With a devoted board of directors, knowledgeable and caring administration, and a dedicated health care team, SelectCare of Texas is determined to provide outstanding clinical services in Southeast Texas. Today we have over 23,000 members in eight counties across southeast Texas, and we continue to add more members, physicians and hospitals to our current network.
